A Glowing Engagement Session at the New River Gorge

Tricia & Greg met at the Craggin Classic a few years ago at the New River Gorge. The New River Gorge in West Virginia is a notorious climbing scene and these two climbers were drawn there. Greg had recently moved to the town of Fayetteville and Tricia lived in Ohio. They did long distance for years until Greg proposed to Tricia in the fall of 2018!

To bring it back to where it all began, they decided to take their engagement photos at Beauty Mountain in West Virginia in November of 2019. As if this couple’s story couldn’t get any more sentimental, they plan to get married September 12th, 2020 at the campground they met at!

How They Met:

Tricia and Greg met at the 2015 Craggin Classic Climbing Festival that takes place at the American Alpine Club Campground every year at the New River Gorge. During the Craggin Classic, they met specifically at the Tuggin' Shack Dance Party where they danced under the stars! They stayed up till 3am just talking and the very next day, Greg went out climbing with Tricia and her friends. Tricia is originally from Ohio and she was just visiting the festival with her friends. Greg had recently moved to the New River Gorge from Texas. Since they met they began visiting each other in Ohio and West Virginia and eventually began a relationship. After three years of many climbing trips, trail runs, and many memories Greg proposed!

The Proposal:

In the Fall of 2018, Greg asked Tricia to go on a trail run on the Long Point Trail in the New River Gorge. At the end of the trail is a gorgeous view of the New River Gorge bridge. Once they made it to the end of the trail and got to see this amazing view, Greg proposed to Tricia (almost 3 years to the date they met!!) She of course said yes and they began planning their wedding!

How WE Met & the Engagement Photos:

I met Greg and Tricia through their roommate, Jeremy who happens to be my boyfriend. We all became good friends from hiking, climbing and visiting them in West Virginia a lot. In November of 2019, I took their engagement photos at Beauty Mountain (Rams Head Trail) because it's one of Tricia & Greg's favorite trails & overlooks. The weather was absolutely perfect for their engagement session. It wasn't too cold or too hot for their November evening engagement session. We headed out to the trail around an hour before sunset and got one of my favorite sunsets to date at the New River Gorge.

Their Soon-To-Be Wedding:

Tricia & Greg plan to get married on September 12, 2020 at the American Alpine Club Campground, the same place where they met in 2015. They are most excited to get married in a place where they fell in love and they can't wait to show their friends and family the place they love so dearly.
